Integrity and assurance

At TacEquip, we don’t just say our gear is protective—we prove it.

As a supplier of stab-resistant and impact-rated equipment, integrity is at the core of everything we do. When safety is on the line, there’s no room for doubt. That’s why we go beyond flashy claims and hold our products accountable to the highest standards of performance, transparency, and traceability.

Whether you're equipping a frontline team or purchasing for personal safety, we believe you deserve full visibility into how your gear performs—and why it can be trusted.

Warranty

All TacEquip stab-resistant panels include a 10-year warranty on their protective panels, valid from the date of manufacture (not purchase).

This warranty specifically covers:

  • Retention of stab-resistant properties (as per it's certified protection level).
  • Protection against manufacturing defects such as delamination, incomplete encapsulation, or compromised sealing where applicable.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage due to improper use, such as blunt-force trauma, firearm impacts, crushing, or non-stab threats.
  • Reasonable Wear and tear caused by excessive heat, moisture intrusion, or incorrect storage (e.g. leaving panels in high-temperature environments such as car boots during summer).
  • Unauthorised modifications, panel removal from original carriers, or re-encapsulation attempts.
  • Cosmetic wear or deterioration of outer vest carriers.

Conditions of Warranty Validity:

  • The item must remain in its original configuration.
  • It must be used within the intended scope (stab protection).
  • Storage should comply with TacEquip's care recommendations (available upon request).
  • Proof of purchase and panel serial number must be provided for warranty claims.

While we do carry a 10 year warranty - we do recommend replacement of protective elements every 3 - 5 years as best practise. If any panel is suspected of failure or degradation, contact TacEquip immediately for assessment. Do not continue use of any gear that shows signs of structural compromise.

Certification & Protection

TacEquip products are tested and certified by our international manufacturing partners as well as independently tested domestically to compliance with their advertised protection levels.

In the instance of NIJ 0115.00 Threat Level one - this certification verifies protection against knife and spike attacks in controlled test environments.

Certification Details:

Standard: NIJ 0115.00, USA

Threat Level: 1 (typical correctional or low-energy public threat)

Strike Energy:

E1: 24 joules

E2: 36 joules (overtest level)

Penetration Limit:

Maximum 7mm at E1

Maximum 20mm at E2

These tests are performed using consistent striking machines and calibrated synthetic foam backings to simulate body impact.

🇦🇺 Independent Australian Lab Testing – Beyond Manufacturer Claims
We understand that customers demand assurance beyond overseas testing reports.

That’s why TacEquip voluntarily engages with independent Australian testing facilities, including NATA-accredited labs, to perform local validation of protective capability, material quality, and structural consistency.

What we test locally:

✅ Panel impact resistance after transport and storage cycles

✅ Material degradation in heat and humidity (climate simulation)

✅ Knife/spike penetration testing consistent with NIJ methodology

This layer of local testing is performed in addition to international certification, in order to provide an additional level of trust in the knowledge that we are taking every step to ensure that our products are consistent, reliable and safe.

While we have redacted some personally identifiable information, you can review our results here and are more than happy to showcase the full documented to verified customers.

Traceability

At TacEquip, we take accountability and safety seriously. Every item in our current range of protective gear and equipment is individually labeled with a unique identifier to ensure full traceability from production to delivery. This system allows us to track each piece through its journey, guaranteeing transparency and reliability for our customers—frontline agencies, first responders, and security professionals across Australia.

To uphold our high standards, all products undergo rigorous testing within our trusted manufacturing facilities. This in-house process ensures that every piece of equipment meets the strict certification benchmarks we promise, alongisde independent compliance with NIJ Standard 0115.00 Threat Level One for stab resistance. By combining detailed labeling with thorough facility-based testing, we provide gear you can depend on, backed by a clear record of its quality and performance.

Ethical Standards

At TacEquip, we pride ourselves on delivering top-quality tactical equipment to our customers across Australia. But our commitment goes beyond just product excellence—it extends to ensuring that every piece of gear we offer is produced ethically and responsibly. That’s why we partner with manufacturers who comply with rigorous international standards for labor, safety, and environmental practices. In this post, we’ll explore how our manufacturing partners align with globally recognized frameworks, ensuring that your gear is made with integrity.

Partnering with Ethical Manufacturers

When selecting manufacturing partners, we prioritise those who demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical production. This means adhering to frameworks like the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) and the Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA). These standards are designed to promote fair labor practices, safe working conditions, and sustainable operations—values that align with TacEquip’s mission to support both our customers and the global community. By working with compliant manufacturers, we guarantee that your tactical equipment is not only high-performing but also ethically sourced.

What Compliance Means for Our Partners

The AMFORI BSCI and SMETA frameworks set a high bar for social and ethical performance. Here’s what compliance looks like in practice:

- Fair Labor Practices: Our partners ensure workers receive fair wages, along with reasonable working hours and access to grievance mechanisms. This creates a respectful and supportive workplace for the people crafting your gear.
- Safe and Hygienic Conditions: Audits confirm that manufacturing facilities maintain safe environments, with proper risk assessments, safety equipment, and training to minimise hazards. From cutting-edge machinery to emergency protocols, worker safety is a top priority.
- Environmental Responsibility: Sustainability is key. Our partners implement systems to reduce waste, manage resources efficiently, and comply with local environmental regulations, contributing to a greener supply chain.
- Transparency and Accountability: Regular monitoring and corrective action plans ensure continuous improvement, addressing any gaps swiftly and effectively.

These standards aren’t just checkboxes—they’re a commitment to doing business the right way, and our partners rise to the challenge.

Why Ethical Manufacturing Matters to You

When you choose TacEquip, you’re not just investing in durable, reliable tactical gear—you’re supporting a supply chain that values people and the planet. Ethical manufacturing ensures that the workers behind your equipment are treated fairly, reducing the risk of exploitation and fostering sustainable communities. Plus, it aligns with the growing demand for transparency in how products are made, giving you peace of mind with every purchase.

For Australian businesses, law enforcement, and outdoor enthusiasts, this means you can trust that your gear meets both performance and ethical benchmarks. Whether it’s a tactical vest, backpack, or uniform, every item reflects our dedication to quality and responsibility.

Continuous Improvement in Action

Compliance isn’t a one-time achievement—it’s an ongoing process. Our manufacturing partners participate in periodic audits, typically conducted semi-annually or annually, to maintain their standards.

For example, recent audits have shown our partners excelling in areas like worker involvement, freedom of association, and environmental protection, while quickly resolving minor issues like updating safety signage or enhancing recruitment policies. This dedication to continuous improvement strengthens our confidence in their operations—and in the products we deliver to you.

TacEquip’s Commitment to You

At TacEquip, we believe that great products start with great partnerships. By collaborating with manufacturers who meet AMFORI BSCI and SMETA standards, we uphold our promise to provide tactical equipment that’s as ethical as it is exceptional. Our rigorous vetting process ensures that only the best, most responsible facilities make the cut, so you can gear up with confidence.
